Winter Carnival 2012 - Feb 11,2012

Seventeenth Annual Chinook Winter Carnival
Chinooks New England will be returning to the Remick Museum and Farm Winter Carnival on February, 11, 2012. Winter Carnival is an annual event with ice harvesting demonstrations, horse drawn sleigh rides, snow show contests for the kids, and sled dog rides. Outside the Chinooks will be giving sled dog rides to the kids, weather permitting. Inside the museum there will be a sled dog display where Ruth Lind and Rastro will be at the display handing out Chinook information, and informing the public about the breed. In addition to the events hosted by the Remick Museum there will be additional CNE events throughout the weekend.
Planned Itinerary
Friday afternoon/evening, February 10, 2012
For those arriving on Friday we generally meet in Samantha’s restaurant/pub for a meet & greet and to have dinner together. All are invited to this informal meeting.
Saturday, February 11, 2012
Winter Carnival runs from 10:00AM  to about 3:00PM. The Chinook sled rides have been from 10:00AM to about 1:00PM or whenever the dogs get tired. Again, this is weather permitting.
We are looking for volunteers to help with the sledding rings. You do not have to be an expert to help the kids into and out of the sleds, line up the kids, or be a safety lookout. Please consider volunteering for some or all of the sledding time.
Saturday Evening CNE will conduct it’s annual meeting at dinner. Please join us for dinner and the meeting even if you are coming for the day. You do not have to stay at Samantha’s to attend the dinner.
Sunday, February 12, 2012
After a long day of activities on Saturday we look forward to a leisurely breakfast at Samantha’s then head to Hemenway State Forest for some recreational sledding on the trails. This is a good area to just have some fun with your dogs. There are groomed trails, for sledding, skijoring, and hiking. Hemenway is not far from the Remick Museum.
